T-Mobie Renames The 3G Network to “4G”

Verizon Wireless and The Sprint Nextel Corporation have been busy building highly useful wireless data networks. This new technology that is being used is known as “4G’ which is named after being the 4th generation. Recently, T-Mobile USA has jumped on the band wagon and has already launched a campaign program earlier this week. This “4G” technology is the upgrade all the top cell phone companies need and the technology consumers deserve. Or, is this all just a strategy to sell more phones and gain more of the market share?

T-Mobile’s 4G network is actually considered 3G technology. But, the T-Mobile USA company stands behind its claim saying that the downloads provided are just as quick as 4G technology is and therefore it should be considered to be the network upgrade that many have already took into their own hands. “When consumers look at 4G, if you ask nine of ten, they’ll say it’s about the speed,” T-Mobile spokesman Reid Walker stated.

“America’s Largest 4G Network” is the claim that T-Mobile USA represents in its ad campaigns recently dropping the old “offering 4G speeds” ads that so many people are use to seeing and hearing. Though, in Sweden this high rolling company has a totally different claim altogether known as “Turbo 3G.” This campaign advertisement may seem appealing elsewhere. But, in the U.S. Many people need to know or at least feel that they’re equipped with the latest technology available.

While T-Mobile is just catching on to the whole 4G wireless network movement, sprint is already on to the next technology that may just move the future of phones altogether. This technology is currently known as “Long Term Evolution”, or LTS for short. This technology will be traveling across 38 markets later this year. Technology is just getting more technological. In order for T-Mobile to stay ahead, they must think ahead in this ever so diverse market.
