During the CES 2012, companies unveiled new digital cameras that ran on Android platform. One of these companies is Polaroid and its SC1630 Smart Camera. It looks like an Android smartphone than digital camera.
It has a 16-megapixel sensor and 3x optical zoom. It has Wi-Fi connectivity so that the user can access and upload images and videos to photo sites and social networking sites. The camera weighs five ounces and can record digital video as well. It has 18 scene modes and a 3.2 inch display at the back.
Other camera features of the SC1630 Smart Camera are automatic face detection and smile detection. It also has GPS capabilities so that the user can arrange the photos by location and date. Users can also edit the photos and video right on the camera before uploading them. Simple edits such as removing red eye, resize, crop, and auto color correction are allowed. It supports memory cards up to 32GB and allows access to the Android Market.
The SC1630 is Polaroid’s way to be relevant in the time of Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. It combines high-end digital imaging with Android’s connectivity features. It allows the user to click, capture and share it to the world in an instant.
