The newer point and click pocket cameras that have started to pop up in the stores all seem to have many more abilities than just point and click. Case in point is the new Nikon Coolpix camera that not only has a 12.1 megapixel resolution but it sports a nice little projector. Not too many cameras can come out and say that you can see your pictures blown up on a nearby wall but Nikon decided it would take advantage of something that no one was thinking of.
Although the new Coolpix S1000pj is a bit thicker than most other pocket ready cameras, it still has an ease of use that people will enjoy. With the LCD screen in the back, it like most other cameras that new, Coolpix shows you just how clear your pictures can be. Even with diverse lighting conditions the viewer is able to give great resolution with very little motion blur at all. While this camera is at the height of the new technology market there are some minor draw backs.
The picture quality could be a little bit better from the projector as it only has a 30:1 contrast ratio. But if you aren’t going to be trying to have a slideshow for everyone in the neighborhood you should do just fine even if the colors are a bit washed out. Also the price of the camera seems to be a bit too high for the quality of the picture resolution. With that being said, the new Nikon Coolpix should be a camera that you should try out first before you decide to spend the money on it. There are a lot of cheaper models out there but not all of them will have the same features that this Nikon will have even with the lower quality.
