Barnes & Noble leaked out images of its upcoming NOOK Tablet. It looks like a NOOK Color but features a dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP4 processor. It also has 16GB internal storage, which is expandable through a microSD card slot that is compatible with up to 32 GB card.
Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet have around 4 hours of video playback with Wi-Fi on or 8 hours without. It connects to the internet through Wi-Fi and has a 7 inch VividView IPS touchscreen, which is the same as the NOOK Color.
The NOOK Tablet is thinner than the NOOK Color by just 0.02 inches. It is also lighter by 0.9 ounces and more storage by 8 GB. But aside from those features, the upcoming device is similar to the old NOOK Color.
NOOK Color was updated with access to Hulu Plus. This is added to the other pre-installed apps such as Rhapsody, Grooveshark, Pandora, and MOG. Barnes & Noble library now includes The New Yorker and Real Simple. There are also new games added to the NOOK Color store, such as Scrabble.
The NOOK Color costs $199 while the NOOK Tablet is said to cost $249. Now Barnes & Noble consumers have the choice between the inexpensive original NOOK Color or the newer equally inexpensive dual-core tablet.
