Verizon iPhone 4 number two in sales against the HTC Thunderbolt at Verizon Stores

It appears that after two weeks of sales the HTC Thunderbolt smartphone may be coming out ahead of the Verizon iPhone 4 in some locations. The HTC Thunderbolt launched in the middle of March on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. In a survey of 150 Verizon Wireless stores in 22 U.S. cities, the Android-based HTC phone, the two phones were either neck and neck, or the HTC came out slightly ahead of the iPhone 4.

When the stores were contacted 61 percent of them said they sold equal amounts of the two smart phones, 11 percent said they sold more iPhones, and 28 percent said they sold more HTC phones.

There wasn’t any data from hard sales numbers on the two phones, so there wasn’t a firm way of confirming that the Android based HTC is outselling the iPhone 4, but it would appear that the HTC is indeed doing well against the iPhone.

The HTC sells for $250 with a two year Verizon contract.
