iPad 2 Pictures Revealed

The soon to be released iPad 2 has some guts, showing off its back end to potential customers only a couple of days before the official announcement of its release. The image seems real, and matches up to a leak of the unit that came out earlier that showed the side of the iPad 2. The most noticeable addition to the new unit is the new camera on the back, which is a feature that didn’t exist on the first iPad. The external speaker is also remodeled, and it now is tight up against the bottom left hand corner of the unit. The back of the iPad 2 appears completely flat with beveled edges, instead of the slightly curved and squared off ones on the original iPad.

Since there are now several other tablets competing against it, the iPad 2 has a lot to accomplish. Whether or not it will include a retina quality display or an SD card slot is yet to be known, but it seems likely they will be on it. Apple is still leading by a large margin in applications, especially those optimized for tablet computers. However, it won’t be long before Android products catch up in this department.

Even if the hardware inside the iPad 2 is pretty much just an iterative upgrade for iPhone 3GS, adding on a camera ought to be sufficient to make users happy, especially if a good iOS upgrade appears with it.

Still, everyone is curious as to what the front looks like, but since Apple is making the debut announcement in only a couple of days, everyone will know soon if this leaked picture is legitimate or not.
