iPad 2 Expected to Have 2 Cameras Along With iOS 4.3

Evidence exists that when Apple releases the iOS 4.3 Beta 2 there is an extreme likely hood that the iPad2 will come with at least one camera, and probably two.

This evidence is seen in an image asset that is in the Beta 2 that shows icons for FaceTime, Camera and Photo Booth on iPad’s default home screen. This image looks just like what is now used as iPad’s wallpaper settings, and it probably is planned to replace it in the iPad 2.

FaceTime will likely work just like it works on the iPod touch as it will with the new iPad, which will allow users to make video calls to others using the iOS devices that have the front-facing cameras, or with the ones that have FaceTime for Mac on their systems. Photo Booth, which is not yet on any of Apple’s iOS devices, will also probably work like the desktop app that now ships with OS X and will let users take pictures of themselves by using a front-facing camera and then use several special effects on the picture.  They have also already found filters like Mirror, X-Ray and Kaleidoscope in the new iOS 4.3 Beta.

Putting in a separate camera app is the thing that shows Apple is going to put two cameras in the iPad 2 instead of only one. It’s also true that it might only be for use with the front camera, but then Apple would have only included the Photo Booth application, which could be used with a front-facing camera.
