Along with the release of the new Apple iPad2, Apple has also released a new operating system — iOS 4.3, which is a version for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
This new software comes with a few new features that were announced during the iPad2 announcement. It will have support of a mobile hotspot on the AT&T iPhone 4 as well as improved Airplay features. AirPlay technology lets third-party apps send video and audio to additional devices, such as WiFi-enabled speakers or an Apple TV.
AT&T users can pay $20 to add the WiFi access to their phone’s 3G network data plan and then they can share it with three other devices. The Verizon iPhone already has this feature on it.
In addition, customers will be able to stream movies from a home computer to an iPad or other device using iOS.
You can get the new iOS as a download in iTunes after you connect your device and select “check for update.”
The new iOS 4.3 also has enhanced speed for the Safari Web browser and the mute switch on the iPad can be changed to a screen orientation lock.
The new software releases come right ahead of Friday’s debut of the iPad2, which will already have the new iOS 4.3.
The new software can be downloaded and used with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and third- and fourth-generation iPod Touch models. Earlier devices can’t use the new verison.
