Apple released a preview of the next OS X operating system, which is called Mountain Lion. It has several new features that would make you want to buy more Apple products. The upcoming OS X version moves closer to the iOS, which is the platform running on iPads and iPhones.
At present, Apple is the world’s largest smartphone maker but its share of the PC market is quite small. The OS X Mountain Lion is its solution to tie the two platforms together and help sell more computers. The upcoming operating system has apps and features that were only exclusive to Apple’s mobile devices, which are Messages, Notes, Notification Center and Reminders. It focuses on the iCloud, which is the company’s online storage service that can sync data between Macs and mobile devices.
When users first boot up Mountain Lion, they would be asked for their iCloud credentials. This would give them access to notes, messages, and event reminders. ICloud is one of the newest cloud services available. Apple wants the service to displace the personal computer as the center of consumer’s digital life.
Apple is trying to create a similar look and feel for its Mac OS X and mobile iOS platforms. This creates a sense of familiarity and makes customers more loyal to the brand.
