Apple to sell iPad 2 in 25 more countries Starting on Friday

The Apple iPad 2 will launch its sales beginning on Friday at 5 p.m. local time and on the Internet beginning at 1 a.m. local time.

Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs says that there is already a great demand for the iPad 2. He added that Apple appreciates the customers’ patience and added that Apple is doing its best to make sure there are enough of the new tablet computers for everyone that wants one.

The WiFi version of the iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be sold in 25 countries (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.) starting March 25. The price is expected to be $499 for the 15 GB model and $599 for the 16 GB model in the U.S.

If a user wants the iPad 2 that is equipped with both Wi-Fi + 3G, it will cost $629 for the 16 GB model in the U.S. and a hundred dollars more for the 32 GB mdoel, and another hundred more for the 64 GB unit.

Starting in April, customers in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore will get the iPad 2 in April, as well as other countries getting it in stage over the next few months. The prices for international units will be given out soon.  Due to the recent disasters in Japan, the release there will be delayed and a date has not been released as yet.
