For those Apple fans out there who are pacing in anticipation of the launch of the iPad2, stand by, according to Reuters, you won’t have to wait any longer than next year.
The iPad 2 comes after the extremely successful run of the first iPad, which is credited with starting tablet wars and creating a whole new kind of market. It is expected to have two cameras, front and back, for video chatting like the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the iPhone4, and will have a higher resolution than the first iPad.
The iPad 2 is expected also to be thinner and weigh less than the first, which is a strategy Apple has employed in the past with its tablets. Officials predict a smaller and lighter version will win points with consumers and be able to compete and even threaten the laptop market. It is also expected to have a screen resolution similar to the retina display of the iPhone 4.
Besides the new iPad 2, Google also announced it is bringing full desktop Google Docs support to the iPad. Until now, iPad users needed to employ third-party or online solutions to use them, but now they will be able to do so more easily.
